New orders filed by category
When Seller Oracle makes a new order from an email, it now files it under what you bought it for, so supplies and subscriptions no longer arrive as Stock.
What's new
- Filed as it arrives. Seller Oracle reads the email and gives the order a category, from Stock, Packaging and supplies, Equipment, Software and subscriptions, Shipping and prep, Professional services and Other business costs. An order that mixes stock with supplies, or isn't clear, stays as Stock.
- Your shop rules win. If you've set a rule for a shop with its Always file new purchases from... button, its new orders follow your rule instead, and they aren't sent to Needs review for their category.
- Only new orders. Seller Oracle doesn't go back over the orders you already had, and a later email never changes a category you picked.
- Kept off your stock lists. An order filed as anything but Stock gets no SKUs, and it stays off the Action Centre's Needs ASIN, Ready to list and Prep centre lists. On the Orders list it shows its category in small grey text.
- Checked once. When Seller Oracle files an order as anything but Stock on its own, the order goes to Needs review once, with the reason "We filed this order under a category other than Stock, so it got no SKUs and was kept off your stock lists. If you bought it to resell, change its category to Stock."
- Settling it. Changing the order's Category settles the check. So does pressing Mark Reviewed, or the shop's Always file new purchases from... button on that order. The shop button isn't offered for Amazon or eBay.
- Change it to Stock and the order gets its SKUs, so it can reach Ready to list like the rest of your stock.
Why we built it
You could already set an order's category, as the last roundup said, but every order still came in as Stock unless you'd set a rule for its shop. Boxes, packing tape, label printers and software bought by email got resale SKUs and sat in Needs ASIN and Ready to list beside the real stock, until you cleared them out.
Now they file themselves under what they are. Anything Seller Oracle files away from Stock on its own comes to you once in Needs review, so you can catch a buy you meant to resell.
Where to find it
It works on every new order from your emails, on every plan. The category is in the Category row of the order's details, flagged orders are on the Action Centre's Needs review tab, and the Orders list has a category filter. The owner, admins, members and VAs can change a category, and View only teammates can see it.
The Orders help article has the details.
